A Taste of Yiddish

Mit a yidishn tam ??? ? ?????? ???

Six Thursday sessions starting 18 March and continuing into April and May Yiddish has the vibrancy of the people's tongue - mameloshn - expressed in song and folktale, and has produced a rich literature of devotional works, novels, poems and plays for the Yiddish cinema and theatre (which flourished in the East End from the 1890s - 1940s). Barry Davis, the much-loved writer, actor and teacher, offers participants a unique insight, combining literature, music and film with an introduction to the language.

Sessions are £5. £15 passport to all sessions. Please call the shul or email Yiddish@sandysrow.org.uk <mailto:Yiddish@sandysrow.org.uk>  if you wish to attend or know more.
